Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between self-compassion and emotional flexibility according to perceived stress levels in adult individuals aged 18-45. For this purpose, the research was conducted using a relational scanning model within a quantitative research design, and the data was collected using a survey method. The study group consisted of 400 adult individuals residing in Turkey and aged between 18 and 45. The "Perceived Stress Scale", "Self-Compassion Scale Short Form", "Emotional Flexibility Scale", and "Socio-Demographic Information Form" were used in the data collection process. The statistical program SPSS-28 was used for data analysis. The direction and strength of the relationship between the variables of the research were determined using Pearson Correlation analysis. Additionally, multiple regression analysis was utilized to determine the prediction levels between the dependent and independent variables. In the findings of intergroup comparison, t-test and one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) were employed. When examining the research findings, it was found that there is a significant negative medium-strength relationship between perceived stress total and self-compassion. At the same time, it was found that there is a significant negative low-strength relationship between perceived stress total and perceived coping, emotional flexibility total, the regulation of positive emotions, the regulation of negative emotions, and emotional communication. Finally, it was found that there is a significant positive low-strength relationship between self-compassion and emotional flexibility total, the regulation of positive emotions, the regulation of negative emotions, and emotional communication. As a result, it was determined that as the perceived stress level increases in individuals aged between 18-45, the levels of self-compassion, emotional flexibility total, the regulation of positive emotions, the regulation of negative emotions, and emotional communication decrease.
