Abstract (EN)
It was aimed to examine whether dysfunctional attitudes mediate the relationship between psychological pain and self-loathing in young adults. 401 people participated in the study. Psychological Pain Scale, Self-Disgust Scale and Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale showed a moderate positive correlation. There is a strong and positive correlation in the subscales of the DAS'S. In gender, there is a significant difference in favor of men in the subscales of DAS and addiction subscale. According to age, there is a significant difference in the 18-29 age group. In marital status, there is a significant difference in favor of those who are in a relationship, single and married in the scales other than self-loathing. In terms of education, high school, associate degree and bachelor's degree groups scored higher than the master's degree group in the psychological pain scale. In the self-loathing scale, bachelor's degree group scored higher than the master's degree group. In the DAS, in the perfectionism subscale of the DAS, the associate degree group scored higher than the master's degree group. Mediating role analyses showed that psychological pain significantly predicted dysfunctional attitudes, dysfunctional attitudes significantly predicted self-loathing, and psychological pain and self-loathing significantly predicted each other. It was seen that DAS and its subscales played a partial mediating role on psychological pain and self-loathing
