Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to determine the role of automatic thoughts, body perception and tendencies to express emotions in the romantic relationship beliefs of young adults. Regression analysis was used in the research. The study group of the research is 433 university students who studied in different faculties of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in the 2018-2019 academic year. The data for the research collected by Küçükarslan and Gizir (2012) with the scale of romantic relationship beliefs that were adapted to Turkish language conducted studies of validation and reliability. Kuzucu (2006) conducted a validation and reliability study on the scale of expression of emotions. The scale of automatic thoughts Was developed by Aydın and Aydın (1990). Hovardaoğlu (1992) conducted a validation and reliability study on the scale of body perception; and the personal information form was developed by the researcher. Factor analysis was performed to measure the validity of the scales in this study and the factor structures showed the expected distribution. Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of the scale of romantic relationship beliefs is calculated as .85, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of the scale of expression of emotions is calculated as .74, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of the scale of automatic thoughts is calculated as .95, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of the scale of body perception is calculated as .94. The percentage, frequency and standard deviation were used in the analysis of data. The T test and regression analysis were used for analysis of independent variables. The significance level of 0.05 was used in this study. According to the findings of the study, it was found that the sub-dimension (love Will find a way) of the scale of romantic relationship beliefs of young adults is negatively related to gender (being woman) and positively related to the presence of the relationship. According to another finding, first and only sub-dimension of the scale of romantic relationship beliefs of young adults has a positive relation with sub-dimension of automatic thoughts. Confusion and escape fantasies also has a significant negative relation with personal incompatibility, desires to change and gender (being woman). Another finding of this research is a positive relation seen with sub-dimension of automatic thoughts "intimacy and abduction" of sub-dimension "idealisation" of the scale of romantic relationship beliefs of young adults and significant negative relation seen with personal incompatibility, desires to change and gender (being woman. The last finding from the research is the positive relation between '"body perception" and "intimacy and abduction" sub-dimension of automatic thoughts, which is a sub-dimension of " love at first sight of the scale of romantic relationship beliefs of young adults and significant negative relation found with gender (being woman).
