Investigation of the relationship between the quality of life and internal leisure motivation of Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate employees and recreation

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between the quality of life and internal leisure motivation of the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports employees with recreation. As a data collection tool, "Personal Information Form" developed by the researcher, "Intrinsic Motivation Scale" (Instrinsic MotivationScale ILM) developed by Weissinger and Bandalos (1995) and adapted by Özdemir, Ayyıldız Durhan and Karakucuk by conducting a validity and reliability study in 2020 and developed by the World Health Organization, Eser and ark (1999) was used the SF-36 Quality of Life Scale Short Form, whose validity and reliability study was conducted in Turkish. A total of 354 staff member from the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports of Bolu, Düzce, Bartın, Zonguldak and Karabük provinces in the Western Black Sea Region participated in the study. Data analysis was made using SPSS 22.0 program and number, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used as descriptive statistical methods in the evaluation of the data correlation test was used in the correlation analysis of the two scales, Mann-Whitney U tests were used in the pairwise comparison analysis and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used in the multiple comparison analysis. According to the results obtained with the scales, it was observed that there was a significant and positive relationship between the internal leisure motivation scale and the quality of life scale. In this context, it has been concluded that when individuals participate in regular recreational activities, it has an important place in improving and protecting health and increasing their quality of life.
