Youth literature and culture transfer: A review on the English translation of Ipek Ongun's Camp Friends

The name of this study was determined as "Youth Literature and Culture Transfer: A review on the English translation of Ipek Ongun's Camp Friends". This study focuses on the transfer of culture in youth literature. In the translation of a work of Turkish youth literature into English, the place of culture in translation and Newmark's translation strategies adopted by the translator in terms of translation of cultural elements will be examined. In this study, it is aimed to examine the transfer of cultural elements in the English translation of a work belonging to Turkish youth literature. It will be examined how much importance is attached to culture and cultural elements in the transfer of Camp Friends novel to a foreign target culture and thus it will try to contribute to the field of translation studies. When evaluated in this context, this study also aims to increase the number of studies in the field of youth literature. For this, Camp Friends is the work of Ipek Ongun was translated from Turkish to English has been chosen. Camp Friends has an important place in the youth literature system and also influenced a certain generation in her own period.
