Abstract (EN)
The slope stability problems which examines the slip hazard of naturally or artificially created sloped surfaces, is considered as one of the main topics of geotechnical engineering. The importance of slope stability is clearly observed when the cases and the damages are examined. Various slope stabilization methods are used to maintain slope stability. Improvement of a failure area or prevention of a possible slope failure is possible by reducing the factors that trigger slope movements or increasing the shear strength of the soil. At this stage, the reinforcement of the slopes by using geotechnical retaining structure is one of the most suitable methods used to prevent movements that may occur on the slopes. Evaluation of the experience-based knowledge and professional rules gained from geotechnical engineering experts is of great importance in the selection process of geotechnical retaining structure in slope stability. A small part of this knowledge and ideas gained through expert experience has been considered to the literature. At this stage, it is not always possible to work with or reach experienced engineers. The aim of this study is to transfer the expert knowledge based on the experience on the selection of geotechnical retaining structure type in slope stability to the literature and to present to the use of engineers which geotechnical retaining structure type can be selected in slope stability problems. In the selection process of a sustainable, economical and safe design based on criteria determined by expert opinions, to help decision makers make faster, higher quality and correct decisions; the focus is on a decision support system that uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and VIseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) methods.
