Socio-economic, cultural, political, artistic developments experiencedbetween the two World Wars, which left their mark on the 20th Century have beenrevised within the framework of the thesis subject.In this thesis, which explained the characteristics of the Surrealistmovement, transformation of the object have been examined through emphasizingthe historical period where Surrealism was born. The concept of transformation,because it creates richness of meaning, has been useful to create a product bymeans of determining the possibilities of its intellectual use and its location withinthe historical process. The use of ?transformation of the object? as one of thepossibilities of artistic production has been analyzed in Rene Magritte paintings,during the given period and within the framework of performing arts.The theme emphasized in the thesis titled as ?Analyzing the Formation ofSurrealist Painting through the Transformation of the Object? is that, when theObject changes into something else, it tries to call all values vital to its existenceinto being. Within this circle, which continues in line with the wholeness of theuniverse, the object does not disappear, but it may be alienated if transformed intoanother object. The concept of ?Transformation? that is examined within theframework of this ?substance? has been prepared bearing in mind the possibilitiesin the creation of the surrealist object.Keywords : Transformation, Art, Production, Object, Surrealistic
