Abstract (EN)
Gerze is located on the "Western Blacksea Part" of the Blacksea Region. It is dependent on the city of Sinop in terms of administration. It has Dikmen on the east, central Sinop on the west, The Blacksea on the north and the district of Boyabat on the south. Within this study, it is aimed to enlighten future studies on Gerze, whose development level is now quite low, through suggesting its geographical features. In this context, all geographical features of the district have been taken into consideration in detail. Throughout the study, firstly the area of Gerze has been identified and limited concerning literature has been searched in detail. Objective comments have been made through getting information from concerning institutions and organisations and considering principles of geography on them which are relation, dispersion and causality. The study has been finished with observations made in the light of the information and the statistics we reached in the result of these studies. As a consequence, any kind of planning and investment has almost no chance of being successful without considering geographical factors. So, considering geographical features of that area will increase the chance of being successful in the studies.
