Abstract (EN)
Objektives: Reactive oxygen species are thought to lead. to tissue damage and abnormalities on mother and fetus. Our purpose is, compare to total oxidative level, total antioxidant levels and oxidative stress index the patients are 24 to 28 weeks pregnant, were diagnosed as gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) with the healthy individuals, who are 24-28 weeks pregnant control group. material and methods: A total of 99 pregnant women, who are between 24 and 28 weeks and have the same demographic characteristics were diagnosed as gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) or not, and had not received any other systemic disease, were taken the experiment to compare serum total oxidative stress and total antioxidant status levels, Two groups were formed as gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is diagnosed (GDM n = 50) and non-diabetic pregnant women (control n = 49).At the 2 groups, biochemical markers like the level of serum total antioxidant (TAS), total oxidative status (TOS) and oxidative stress index (OSI) were measured.Body mass index (BMI), and the average of ages was compared. That was considered significant at the statistical analysis (p <0.05). Results: In our study, the total antioxidant level (TAS) and total oxidative status (TOS) in terms of a statistically significant difference was not found (p> 0.05) between gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) group and the control group but in the group of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) oxidative stress index (ou) levels was higher as p <0.04 than the control group, Looking at the average of ages and body mass index, was found to be at higher values (p = 0.001 and p = 0.001) at the group of the patients have gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) than the control group Conclusion: According to our study, occured that oxidative stress index (OSI) value statistically significant as p<0,05 the group of the patients have gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) than the control group. There was no statistically significant difference statistically and parameters, at the inter-group assessment was made for total antioxidant status (TAS) and total oxidative status (TOS) (p>0,05) For this purpose there is a need for further studies on this subject.
