Investigation of quality of life and anxiety in women gestational diabetes mellitus

Abstract (EN)
Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is defined as the clucose intolerance diagnosed in pregnancy. Diagnosing GDM in time is important for both the mother ant the fetus. During the pregnancy of women whohave GD, it is contributional to determine the anxiety that they feel with the help of examining their quality of life and women's diabet management, to submit their healthy pregnancy and giving birth. With this work, it is aimed to examine women's anxiety and quality of life who have GD. The reseach was run between June- November 2013 at Turkish Republic Ministry of Health, Turkey Public Hospitals Foundation, Manisa City Public Hospitals Association related to Office of Secretary General, Manisa State Hospital Endocrine Policlinicsand Celal Bayar University Hafta Sultan Hospital Gynecology Department, staying patient floors and policlinics and Şifa Universty Hospitals Group Basmane section Endocrinology Policlinics. Gestasyonel Diabetpatients, who appeals to the hospital where the research is running constitutes the population of the research. Patients who has GD (n=107) and, who were chosen from volunteers according to the acceptance of random simple examplification method constitutes the examplification of research. As data collecting tools, with the aim of having sosyodemografik information, a form with 39 questions that is prepar edaccording to literature and in order to examine quality of life, a likert type of short form that consists of 36 items (pg-36), life quality examination, Beck anxiety inventory (BAE) which consists of 21 items and pointed with the likert type 0-3 to evaluate anxiety are used. To analyze datas, SPSS 15.00 for Windows program is used. To evaluate datas, student t test, corelation, ANOVA, Mann Whitney U, Kruskol Wallis tests are used. Women's ages who has GDM and participated in reseach are specified aproximately as 31.73+5.93. (min: 19, max:43). %3.7 of the women are just literate, %70.1 is primary school graduated, and %26.2 of the more educated in high schoolormore. It is determined that %43.0 of thewomen's family has a diabet story, and %73.9 of who have diabets are their first degree relatives. %90 of the women has GDM are specified with GD diabetes measurement. Women's, with GDM, participated in research, life quality (pg-36) measurement's avarage points are seen as medium level and below (4.25-20,38) and Beck Anxiety Measurement's points are determined as medium level and below as well (10.14-24.00). Inconclusion, Gestasyonel diabetes mellitus has an effect on the women'squality of life and their anxiety rate. On women who has GDM, life quality is increasing, and on the contrary anxiety rate is decreasing.
