Quality control studies on Ginseng (Panax ginseng) extract

Quality control studies were carried out on ginseng (panax ginseng) which is known with the names of king of herbs, according to european pharmacopoeia methods. It has been determined that the obtained data are in acceptable ranges in Pharmacopoeia. In addition, quantification were carried out using dried fruid prepared by with infusion method and capsule purchased from the pharmacy. The heavy metals contained in Panax ginseng extract were examined and compared according to the European Pharmacopoeia and Türk Gıda Kodeksi Bulaşanlar Yönetmeliği. The pesticide residues in Panax ginseng extract were examined and evaluated according to European Pharmacopoeia and Türk Gıda Kodeksi Pestisitlerin Maksimum Kalıntı Limitleri Yönetmeliği. Escherichia coli was determined in Panax ginseng extract and evaluated according to European Pharmacopoeia and Türk Gıda Kodeksi Mikrobiyolojik Kriterler Yönetmeliği.
