A review of entrepreneurs' perspectives on bank loans: A case of Elazığ

In our study titled "An Analysis of Entrepreneurs' Perspectives on Bank Loans: The Case of Elazig Province", the opinions of 320 businesses operating within the provincial borders of Elazig about bank loans were taken, the frequency and amount of loan use and their approach to loan use were tried to be examined. In the study, 36 questions were asked to the participants and it was aimed to analyze the expectations and reactions of the entrepreneurs against bank loans. The data obtained from the sample were analyzed by Tukey and Game-Howell tests. 23.8% of the enterprises forming the sample are micro-scale, 27.2% are small-scale, 40.9% are medium-sized and 8.1% are large-scale enterprises. 20.3% of the sample consisting of enterprises operating in the fields of service, trade, production, construction-contracting consisted of female participants and 79.7% male participants. As a result of the analysis, it has been seen that a large part of the financing problem of entrepreneurs is met by commercial, participation, investment and development banks. In addition, it was concluded that the difficulties of accessing bank loans differ according to the size of the enterprises, their duration of operation, types of establishments, amount of capital and turnover. It has been observed that entrepreneurs experience problems such as the guarantee of the loan, the cost of the loan, and the low credit limits in the process of accessing bank loans. It was tried to examine the difficulties and conveniences experienced in the credit relations of public and private banks with entrepreneurs. This study, which is prepared with a quantitative study method, aims to analyze the level of the credit supply that entrepreneurs need in economic activities, and the level of production, trade and banking relations through a specific sample.
