The present research, with the title "A Comparative Study of Classical Guitar Works Written by Turkish Composers within International Classical Guitar Music Repertoire", investigates archives of written and recorded resources. Turkish classical guitarists and composers for the instrument who have been trained both in Turkey and/or abroad have been selected. Apart from resource studies, musical contacts certain musicians and musical institutions have also been established. Received data has been evaluated. After a close selection, detailed information concerning works that deserve international recognition is realised. In order to highlight the significance of the present research, a brief world history of clasical guitar, a history of classical music in the Republic of Turkey, and the development of classical guitar in Turkey are also presented. According to the conclusion of this research, the following suggestion are made: - The significance of International presentations of Turkish classical guitar music repertoire, - The necessity of a collaboration between university departments in general and music colleges. - The suggestion of the availibility of an achive of recordings, scores and research of classical guitar music in local and university libraries.
