Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT In the 20th century, the concept of dimension, re-evaluated by both physics and and mathematics, was not given as much emphasis as it is given now. It was emphasized that we, as human beings were not evolved to feel or perceive the existence of dimensions with its theoretical equations and deficiencies. With the help of new ideas, scientists proved that dimensions higher than the third, were more than just theroretical numbers on paper. The higher dimension entitled as the fourth, was widened with the general theory of relativity and string theory. The works of reflecting four-dimensioned cube called Tesseract on three-dimensioned platforms, were simulated in electronic environment. Spread with scientific papers; tesseracts equivalent modeling was unraveled just like representative sample visulation of three-dimensioned cube. In the beginning of the 20th century, mostly affected by social events, cubism was born in search of innovations. Led by Picasso and Braque, this movement focused on dismantling and reflecting every angle of an object on paper while trying to create the four-dimensioned exterior. With this study; we tried to review the effects of cubism and fourth dimension concepts on fashion design.
