Özet (EN)
Glioblastoma is the most common brain tumor has the worst prognosis, short survival and high treatment resistance and response rate. There are many underlying signal proteins releated to the aggressiveness of the tumor, its invasion and proliferation activity, its growth and the development of the resistance to treatment. In the researches, it was aimed to find out the relationship between the inhibition and activation of these signaling proteins or the presence or absence of these proteins with prognosis. STAT3 is an oncogenic transcription factor. Its activation has been identified in numerous tumors such as aggressively progressing melanoma, thyroid cancers, prostate cancer and Hodgkin's lymphoma and its overekspression in tumor cells to normal cells has led to it being seen as a target for antitumor treatments. In many studies conducted for this purpose, it has been shown that continuous activation of STAT3(signal regulator and transcription activating gene) in glioblastoma cell and tumor microenvironment increases cell proliferation, antiapopitosis, invasion and angiogenesis. This has made STAT3 remarkable in terms of therapeutic goal and prognosis. In our study, we retrospectively analyzed 252 cases diagnosed with glioblastoma. In the light of recent studies, we used STAT3 in our study in order to use STAT3 as prognostic data and to be an immune marker that can determine treatment. We investigated the statistical correlation of parameters such as age, gender, survival time, histological features, number of mitosis, Ki67, p53, IDH-1 staining status and the treatment options applied according to the immunohistochemical staining status with STAT3. We aimed to find markers that may be meaningful in terms of prognosis in order to add new treatment options to the existing treatment options. However, we did not detect the relationship of STAT3 with the prognostic factors we compared.
