Abstract (EN)

Blood gas analysis is a test that evaluates blood pH and measures changes in acidosis or alkalosis. A pH range of 7.35-7.45 is considered normal. pH balance may be disrupted due to respiratory or metabolic reasons. In this case, blood gas analysis and blood gas evaluation become an important indicator. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of arterial blood gas evaluation training given to nurses working in a chest diseases hospital on their knowledge level. Data from the research: A total of 4 hours of blood gas evaluation training is given at Yedikule Chest Diseases Hospital, two hours each week, for a total of two weeks. Powerpoint presentations are prepared for the trainings. The study population consists of 361 nurses working at Yedikule Chest Diseases Hospital. The study sample consists of nurses working in the same hospital. The sample number was calculated as 16 nurses. Considering that there will be data loss, a total of 20 nurses are included in the study. SPSS 26 version program is used to analyze the data. Chi-Square independence test is used to examine the relationships of categorical variables with each other. In the study, statistically significant differences are interpreted based on p<0.05. Descriptive analyzes are given using means and standard deviations for normally distributed variables. The results show that there is a statistically significant difference between the nurses' pre- and post-test knowledge scores. It would be beneficial to provide more training to nurses and to inform them of updates in methods through training to be given to nurses.
