The water mites (Hydrachnidia: acari) fauna of the Göksu river and Lamas stream basin

In this study, the water mite (Hydrachnidia: Acari) fauna of the Göksü River and Lamas Stream Basin was evaluated and the total of 61 species belonging to 13 families were identified. Among these; Protzia iranica, Pešić & Smit 2021, Protzia tiesnanensis Pešić & Smit 2021, Protzia uralensis Tuzovsky, 2021, Lebertia (s.str.) harrenarum Laska, 1953, Limnesia connata Koenike, 1895 are new records for Turkish fauna. Monatractides yildirimi n. sp., Atractides (s.str.) andreji n. sp., Neumania arvenae n. sp., Mideopsis (s.str.) boyacii n. sp., Arrenurus (s.str.) ermani n. sp., Arrenurus (Megaluracarus) pesici n. sp. and Arrenurus (Micruracarus) gereckei n. sp. are new to science. Morphological features, descriptions, measurements and illustrations of various body parts of all identified species were defined. Additionally, current descriptions of families and genera were given, together with family, subfamily, genus, subgenus and species identification keys. Moreover, their habitats and distributions in the world are also given.
