In this study the relationship between the stroma, epithelium, cornea and Descement membrane thickness in the eye of mouse, in 1st and 22nd days and in phases of 10th week and 22nd month post delivery and the retina ganglion cells, is examined, by using the method of applying PAS-Alcian blue dye. Furthermore, cornea ultra structure is assessed, at the level of electron microscopeIn dying done histo chemically and depending on age, it is determined that there is an increase in Descement membrane, stroma, epithelium thickness and general cornea thickness. These increases were statistically significant, as compared to the values of the 1st day, 22nd day, 10th week and of the 22nd month groups. Depended on increasing age, it was identified that, there were openings in cornea stroma in corrugated pattern with respect to collagen fibersWhen retina ganglion layer is examined in 22 day and 10 weeks groups, it was determined that they were resembling to the ones seen in the 1 day group and furthermore it was observed that, there were cell and core forms, that were in harmony with each other. As an indicator of development, in the 22nd day group, we have noticed that, the nerve fiber layer became more apparent. It is also observed, in 10 week group that there are scattered intra sitoplazmic oedema, in certain areas. The most apparent change, in ganglion cells, in the 22nd group, was the cells entering into a shape of being depressed down. It is differentiated that the nerve cell layer apparently became thickerIn the 1 day group, when the structure of cornea is examined, at the level of thin structure, it was determined that, the epithelia is thin and arranged in form of 2-3 arrays. Descement membrane, was less developed and endothelia layer was capable of being viewed. In the 22 day group, epital layer is rather developed, the Descement membrane is thick as compared to the one seen in 1 day group. The endothelia cells are observed to be strikingly developed. In the 10 week group, epital layer as a whole, was able to reach at adult structure and in the connection regions there were scattered hemidesmozoms. Descement membrane was developed, as compared to ones seen in two other groups. Endothelia cells protected their structures. In 22 month group, presence of light and dark cells, in cornea epitel cells, were observed. Descement membrane was in a state of being extremely thick and it had a structure that is disturbed. Determination is made that, endothelia cells contained dense cytoplasm, as compared to ones seen in other groupsAs a result of this study, in the phases we have examined, determination is made that, at the light microscope level, there were increases in Descement membrane, stroma, epithelium thickness and in general cornea thickness. When retina ganglion layer was examined, it was possible to differentiate that, the nerve cell layer became thicker, depending on the age and ganglion cells were degenerated. At the end of electron microscope study, it is concluded that there is a dense degeneration that was dependent on age and seen mainly in Descement membrane and in epithelium layer.
