Abstract (EN)

An effort has been made to control size and morphology of nanoparticles on graphene, carbon nano tube, conducting polymers and their composite based electrode surfaces generating and growing by electrochemical technique. In the first part of this thesis which consisted of three different sections, metal nano particles modified graphene oxide covered electrodes were prepared and their effect on electrochemical behaviour of methanol. Au-Pt nanoparticles were consisted of the GO/GCE surface. Pt-Au-GO/GCE indicated high catalytic effect for methanol. Second part of this thesis, metal nano particles modified poly-aniline (PANI) electrodes were prepared and their effect on methanol oxidation reaction was investigated. Cu-Pt nano particles modified polymer electrodes was obtained both higher the peak current and the negative oxidation potential for methanol. Finally poly (aniline)-MWCNT-MNP film modified electrodes were used for electrochemical reaction of catechol..The best catalytic activity towards electrochemical reaction of catechol was obtained with Ni-MWCNT-PANI/GCE. All polymer, graphene oxide and multi-walled carbon nanotube modified electrode surfaces were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy disperse x-ray spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
