A master plan study on the planning and design of green campus areas within the scope of greenmetric; the example of the central campus of Yozgat Bozok University

Sustainability is important for the conservation of natural resources, the recovery of damaged ecosystems, energy conservation and efficiency, social and economic prosperity, and social inclusion. There are many guidelines and reports that guide universities in creating sustainable and green campuses. The most widely used of these guidelines is the UI GreenMetric, launched by the University of Indonesia in 2010. The World University Rankings is a ranking system based on green campus and environmental sustainability. It is a system established by considering the need for unity and solidarity in combating climate change, which is a common problem of world universities. Within the scope of this thesis, it is aimed for Yozgat Bozok University to take protective measures against the changing world by using UI GreenMetric criteria. As a result of the UI GreenMetric evaluation, it was seen that issues such as reducing carbon footprint and climate change, rainwater management, recycling of wastewater, recycling of solid waste, qualities and quantities of campus open-green areas are important in planning and designing for a sustainable campus. As a result, Yozgat Bozok University campus was aimed to be effective in the international world ranking with the campus planning made with reference to the UI GreenMetric system and a landscape master plan was created to contribute to the sustainable, green campus as a result of the evaluation.
