Abstract (EN)

Semiotics is a science that researches various signs and sign indexes. Semiotics aims to determine the rules of the research, to determine the functioning styles, to explain and analyze it with its unique methods in the fields it examines. Since its introduction as a concept, semiotics has been used by many researchers, each of them has been expanded in a different field and introduced new concepts. The aim of this thesis is; to analyze semiotics, and its subfield visual semiotics which adds the works of visual arts (painting, sculpture, graphics, etc.) to the research field, and to examine the visual semiotic approach of Groupe μ (read as μ = Mu) which makes an important contribution to this field. In the first chapter, the definition, history and founders of semiotics are examined. Visual Semiotics and Visual Semiotics Approach of Groupe μ are emphasized. In the second chapter, Digital Art and its history, digital image formation and its types are discussed, and its areas of usage are mentioned. In the third chapter, digital images were created by using computer programs with different technical and artistic approaches and analyzed with the visual semiotic approach of Groupe μ. In the last chapter, the results are evaluated in line with the findings.
