Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study,5% and 10% silver were added to geopolymers which synthesized in appropriate compositions by ion exchange with replacing sodium. It is aimed to convert silver ions into silver nanoparticles in the geopolymer matrix. By adding carbon to the geopolymers doped with silver at different temperatures and at different rates to prevent oxidation, calcination processes were applied in a reductive environment and ideal conditions were investigated. The obtained powder is applied to ceramic coating materials to gain antibacterial properties. X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer was used for the mineralogical examination of the prepared powders, X-Ray Diffractometry was used to calculate the amount of silver obtained in the calcination studies, and Scanning Electron Microscopy for morphological analysis. Antibacterial tests were carried out on the synthesized silver added geopolymers after application and firing on the glaze surface.
