Abstract (EN)

Today, the growing drought requires immediate implementation of sustainable planting studies. In this context, drought-resistant receptor (Crategus L.); the use of this plant in large areas such as afforestation, erosion control, xeriscaping, agriculture and animal husbandry, human nutrition, medicine and cosmetics industry is increasing the importance of this plant. If it is taken into account that the hawthorn grow indigenous to Turkey, their contribution to the country's economy and ecology will be clarfy. The extensive usage areas of it makes hawthorn important to determine the appropriate generative and vegetative production techniques. Compared to vegetative propagation, in vitro, which facilitates the reproduction and preservation of genetic resources, and offers savings in labor costs and storage areas, is seen as more attractive. In our study, the explants taken from the endemic Crataegus tanacetifolia (Lam.) Pers., which is naturally distributed in Gümüşhane, were transferred to media containing different concentrations and combinations of the plant growth stimulator auxin and cytokinin. In order to encourage callus and shoot proliferation. As a result, callus stimulation medium containing 2 mg/l NAA and 0.5 mg/l KIN exhibited the highest value (23.33 g/10 explant). On the other hand, the highest percent of shoot number (47%) was obtained from in shoot promoting media containing 8 µM BAP, 6 µM IAA and 2 µM GA3 . It is expected that this study on hawthorn micropropagation will contribute to the literature.
