A study on the determination of Gümüşhane province public employees point of views on tourism

This research was carried out in order to reveal the opinions of the public employees of Gümüşhane province about how the tourism effects are evaluated and to determine the level of support for tourism activities. The survey form created for this purpose was applied to 998 public employees who represent the research universe. Descriptive statistics, reliability and validity analyzes in this data set were performed with the SPSS 24.0 statistic package program. Obtained measurement was subjected to confirmatory factor analysis with AMOS 22.0 package program. As a result of the reliability and validity analyzes, variables are included in the structural model by reaching the most appropriate factor structures for the structural model. As a result of the research, it is concluded that Gümüşhane province public emloyees' opinions on tourism are generally favorable and as a result of these analyzes, they showed a positive point of view on tourism if there are positive effects of Gümüşhane provincial public employees support the development of tourism. It has also stated that if the tourism has negative effects, they will have a negative point of view on the support for tourism development. However, the three factors that have negative effects on tourism differ from this rating. While the participants indicated that they would not accept the negativities of socio-cultural and environmental negative factors, there is a tolerance on economic negative effects.
