Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, it is aimed to evaluate the risk on the Solid Waste facility in Gümüşhane province by using the Elmeri method, which is an observation method, and the L-type matrix 5x5 decision matrix risk analysis method, which are among the risk analysis methods. It is of great importance to operate and manage solid waste facilities correctly, reduce environmental impacts and minimize health and safety risks. Therefore, this study is carried out to evaluate the processes of the facility, identify possible risks and ensure that appropriate precautions are taken. Within the scope of the thesis, the operating processes of the solid waste facility in Gümüşhane Province will be examined in detail. Solid waste processing processes in the facility; It includes steps such as waste collection, transportation, separation, recycling and disposal. Each process was analyzed to determine and evaluate by comparing the Elmeri method and the L-type matrix 5x5 decision matrix risk analysis method. The L-type matrix used for risk analysis within the scope of the thesis is generally a 5x5 matrix and is used to guide the decision-making process. This matrix is used to evaluate the risk level of a particular decision or project. The Elmeri method consists of three main components: hazard assessment, exposure assessment and risk assessment. This method is used to identify potential hazards of a solid waste facility, assess the exposure of workers and the environment to these hazards, and identify emerging risks. In this thesis, potential risks in the processes of the solids facility in Gümüşhane province will be determined and primarily eliminated by using the Elmeri method and L-type matrix 5x5 decision matrix risk analysis. Appropriate control measures will also be recommended to assess the level of each risk. These measures will ensure improvements in the operation of the facility and minimization of risks. During the comparison phase of these two methods, it will be implemented with support from the business. As a result, it is aimed to examine the operating processes of the solid waste facility in Gümüşhane province in terms of occupational health and safety by using two different risk analysis methods. The results of this study can be a valuable resource for facility managers and relevant stakeholders and may help take more effective measures in solid waste management.
