Özet (EN)

The purpose of the research is to question the reasons for tending towards disgust works in contemporary art within the framework of existential philosophy. In line with this purpose, it is tried to clarify the issues such as what the concept of disgust is, why it is included in art, its meaning as an aesthetic value, what other concepts it is associated with and how it is made visible in art. In recent years, it is observed that the use of body and bodily waste as materials plays a major role in disgust works of art. Since the existentialist philosophy is also human-oriented, the concept of disgust offers a wide range of studies. For this reason, the research is shaped around the concept of body. However, this is the study of the change created by the concept of disgust in artistic perception rather than an art historical configuration. The research method includes the philosophical and artistic historical questioning of a concept based on psychology. It is planned as a descriptive study and using an interdisciplinary research model to examine how the concept is handled by different disciplines.
