Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to examine the gender representations in poems published in Dergâh, Türk Edebiyatı, Varlık, Buzdokuz, Sadece Şiir and Şiir Versus between 2010 and 2022 and to indicate the conscious or unconscious sexism in contemporary Turkish poetry. The meanings expressed by the lines, imagery, discourse and symbols associated with gender in the selected poems are indicated comparatively by referring to various theories. In addition, the numerical distribution of male and female poets among the writers and poets in the selected journals of the selected years is presented in a comparative perspective. This study provides clues to various data on the concepts used in the poems, especially terms such as woman, man, mother, father, sexuality and sexism. In this regard, an analysis is presented in order to comprehend the relationship between contemporary Turkish poetry and gender then to understand how these themes have evolved over time.
