Technical and economic analysis of electricity production with solar panals: Bursa example

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to examine the technical and economic analysis of electrical energy production from a photovoltaic solar plant of 23 kW, which will be installed in agricultural lands or agricultural enterprises in Bursa. In the technical analysis the data, which include Bursa Uludag University (BUÜ) meteorological station, General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) Osmangazi meteorological station and Solar energy potential atlas (GEPA) solar radiation, were used. In addition, the data of BUU Meteorology station and those of solar radiation intensity of MGM Osmangazi Meteorology station were compared daily, monthly and yearly averages. To compare costs that include plant installation cost, total income during the facility's economic life, interest and state support rates in case the investor receives loans and self-repayment period of the system are evaluated between the two facilities which were used in the polycrystalline and monocrystalline solar panels. As a result, we determined that the annual energy production which were obtained from monocrystalline solar panels was between 28 081 kWh/year and 32 239 kWh/year. In addition those of polycrystalline solar panels was between 26 209 kWh/year and 31 886 kWh/year. The payback period of the facility is between 1.5 and 15.4 years in the monocrystalline panels and between 1.5 and 15.8 years in the polycrystalline panels.
