Abstract (EN)
The South Korean cultural industry, which has been developing since the 1990s, has achieved global success in a very short time with the soft power policies implemented by the government and popular cultural products has started to spread in a wave at the international level. The most important carrier of the phenomenon, which is called the Korean Wave (Hallyu) with the globalization processes, is the international young population that forms the global Hallyu fan base. With the boundaries between East and West and the hybrid structure that dissolves all differences within itself Hallyu that expands with each passing day with their fans has a certain fanbase which is long-standing more than 10 years in Turkey and is a growing body of number. The content of this study, which includes up-to-date information about the past and present of the Korean Wave; with the help of related literature and internet sources consists of the general projections of this wave in Turkey and findings of the field study conducted on the students of Imam Hatip High Schools who are participating in the global Hallyu fan culture as a result of the habit of watching Korean dramas. As a result of this study, it was found that Hallyu, who initially produced Korean admiration with all his products, evolved into a hegemonic structure by managing his thoughts, feelings, daily life and dreams. In addition, as it is seen in the Korean TV series(K-dramas), Hallyu successfully carried out emotion marketing techniques and popular image production despite the contradictory elements of Islamic values, concluded that Muslim youth facilitated the engagement of global values, which in addition to tradition and modernization, creating a new field of psychological conflict.
