The pre Pottery Neolithic Period of Southeastern Anatolia region central one finds: Karahan Tepe

In this thesis, Karahan Tepe which is located 63 km east of Sanliurfa, in the boundaries of Tektek Mountains National Park and dated to the Pre-Pottery Neolithic period is discussed. In Karahan Tepe, majority of which remained in the agricultural land, in-situ megalithic were discovered and similar features with the finding centers, which are in the boundaries of Şanlıurfa, like Gobekli Tepe, Sefer Tepe, Taşlı Tepe, Yeni Mahalle, Hamzan Tepe, Nevala Çori, which are dated to the same period, have been revealed. Also in light of materials that are found, comparison of Karahan Tepe with Gobekli Tepe's 2nd Layer, Sefer Tepe, Taşlı Tepe, Hamzan Tepe is made and so it is thought that Karahan Tepe should be dated to the early PPNB Age. As the Near East is the criterion in the similarity of materials and the classification of small findings and for the subject to be better understood; The study is not only limited with Karahan Tepe but also findings of some Pre Pottery Neolithic centers of Near East and Anatolia are also briefly discussed. These discovery centers are classified as minor and major findings in a certain system and particular similarities with Karahan Tepe are examined in detail. While these investigations are carried out, position of Karahan Tepe in the Neolithic Age and the interaction with the surrounding finding centers have been tried to be determined and so contribution and place of Karahan Tepe in this process is searched.
