Abstract (EN)
In today?s world site-specific installations hold a major place in contemporary art. Specific and simple ?invasions? inside the structure of the exhibition space as well as works that have been built over the base of the space itself are being created frequently by the artists. In this sense, artists are providing an expansion for the concept of ?space? both in terms of ideology and form. Together with new materials and technological advancement, the existence of an artwork and the space surrounding the artwork as well as the question how these subjects could in which sense become the focus of a concept have taken on a new dimension. Artists, benefiting from interdisciplinary exchanges (technology, politics, institutionalization, media, architecture, design, science etc) have placed both the public space and the exhibition space in the center of their artistic perception, furthermore, started using the space as a medium to provide an active communication between the artwork and the audience. Thus, as new platforms emerge where one can discuss new concepts about space, it has become also possible to welcome different perspectives and approaches in this matter.
