Abstract (EN)
A human being is the one who thinks and desires to express what she thinks. To fulfill such desire to express her thought, a human being needs a medium. Such medium is called language, a highly sophisticated system in every aspect. Each language, according to its own sets of rules, provides opportunity for people to express themselves. With respect to this, Turkish, having a substantial power of expression, is one of the richest, and a deep-seated languages in the world. The language, by the poets and writers who use it, is recreated and transferred to the future generations acquiring a new identity. Through this academic study, we wish to contribute the Turkish language syntactically, by evaluating the novel named "Pencereden" written by a contemporary writer who uses postmodern elements, Güray Süngü, with respect to its syntactic features's, and by examining the way the writer uses Turkish. This academic study has begun with the information procured from academic sources about the definition, elements, and types of sentences, and the word groups. Later on, the examples selected from the excerpted and evaluated sentences taken from the above-mentioned novel's a thirty page-long section appended to the relevant sections of this academic study. In the text of the thesis, which is the main section of this academic study, a technique called sondaj tekniği has been used. Through this technique, the excerpts, quoted from the selected ten-page long sections of the beginning, middle, and last parts of the above-mentioned novel, appended to the thesis after having been paginated. Later on, the sentensec in the excerpts have been analyzed in regard to the elements of sentensec, the word groups, and the types of sentences.
