The practice of râbita (spiritual connection with a guide) from the perspective of individuals with insecure

This study examines the processes of reconnecting with God through the Sufi practice of rabita (religious relationship). This thesis examines the psychological framework offered by attachment theories and the practices of Râbıta in Sufi literature, establishing a common ground between the two disciplines. The primary objective of this study is to discuss the possibility of individuals who lack a secure attachment to their parents in early childhood experiencing positive transformation in mental, emotional, and behavioral dimensions through Râbıta. In this context, the possibility of compensating for attachment problems through religious practices is explored, and the interrelationship between Sufism and modern psychology is explored through an interdisciplinary approach. The results demonstrate that Râbıta, while a spiritual practice, can play an effective role in individuals' self-transformation and secure attachment processes.
