Abstract (EN)

This study makes migration, one of the most important problems of our era, and integration, one of its successor problems, the main subject of discussion. In this context, the aim of the study is to evaluate Turkey's migration policy through the state, individual, identity, culture and institution phenomena revealed by the Securitization approach, and to reveal the multi-layered integration processes, which migration/migrant studies also provide in-depth explanations, through Syrian migrants. In this framework, the concept of migration and the relationship with migrants will be analyzed in depth through the refugee crisis that Turkey has faced as of 2011 and the integration problem emerged in the following period. While doing this, an interdisciplinary approach will be adopted, and the consequences of migration on Turkey's legal and institutional structure will be discussed in the context of securitization approach. In this context, Turkey's social cohesion and institutional policies towards migrants, which it has adopted due to the current refugee crisis together with the changing and transforming migrant profile, will be examined. In this way, inconsistencies between legal and public approaches for social cohesion will be revealed, based on the argument that Turkey has a securitized migration and cohesion policy, as an interdisciplinary approach. While evaluating the institutionalization of migration management and its political effects during the policy implementation phase, the two-way interaction of the social cohesion phenomenon will be taken into account, again on the basis of the securitization approach. The thesis embodied the theoretical discussions, the impact and perception levels of the current integration and migration policies/practices on the migrant population through a survey study. For this reason, the study, which was carried out with the sample of migrants under temporary protection living in Ankara-Istanbul-Hatay, allows the analysis of migration/migrant and integration policies on the basis of migration/migrant and securitization approach. In this way, appropriate recommendations and outputs were obtained for the institutionalization, legal regulations and practices regarding Turkey's migration and integration policy.
