Evaluation of contribution of the writing lesson to the Graphic Design Lesson in Fine Arts Education Department, Art Education Department

Aim of this research is to measure the applicability of the gaining which are acquired from the writing course, in the Graphic Design course.Universe of the research is the students from Graphic Design Main Arts Workshop in the Fine Arts Education Department in 28 universities in Turkey. Sampling of the research is students whose Main Art Workshop is Graphic and who took the Writing course in previous terms and continuing to the 4th class in Fine Arts Education Department, Education Faculty, Gazi University.Screening model is used in this research. Screening model is a research approach that aims to describe a situation which has happened before or exist now, as it is. Therefore survey is developed by the researcher.Research is realized in two steps as pilot and actual application. Pilot application is made to the 45 students who took the Writing course and are 3rd class in Graphic Main Art Workshop. Main application is made to the 60 students who took the Writing course and are 4th class in Graphic Main Art Workshop.In the analysis of the research data, SPSS computer program is used. Datas which are collected are represented as tables.According to the research findings, it can be said that students who have difficulty in the issues such as relevance of the Writing course in the program of the Fine Arts Education in an education institution which educates art teacher, learning-teaching process, relationship between Writing course and Graphic Design course.Key words: Writing course, Graphic Design, Screening Model, Survey.
