Professional problems experienced by visual arts teachers working in fine arts high school

This research was conducted in the 2022-2023 academic year, in the Western Black Sea Region; Bartın, Bolu, Düzce, Karabük, Kastamonu, Sinop, Zonguldak provinces, MEB Fine Arts high schools with the participation of 40 visual arts teachers. In the research, the professional problems of visual arts teachers were examined. In this research, phenomenology design was used using qualitative research model. In the data collection technique, semi-structured interview technique was used and the data were analyzed by content analysis. In order to obtain the opinions of the teachers, an interview form consisting of a total of 27 questions, 5 of which were Personal Information Form and 22 of which were Professional Problems, was used by the researcher. The interview form was prepared by taking the opinions of 2 expert art educators, 1 assessment and evaluation specialist and 1 language expert. Fine arts high schools were identified for the research and the schools were contacted by obtaining the necessary permissions from the relevant institutions. The interviews were conducted by the researcher through Google Forms. The obtained data are analyzed by content analysis method; code, category and themes. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, Visual Arts teachers are the most; It was seen that there were problems arising from the physical condition of the school, school administration, equipment, student behavior, parents of students, student recruitment (talent exam), economic and working conditions. According to these results, suggestions were made in the recommendations section of the research for the solution and development of the problems.
