An analysis to determine the student profile in the faculy of fine arts and sport high schools painting department

The aim of this study is to determine the profiles of the students who preferred painting department in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Sports High Schools in the Aegean Region.In the study general scanning model has been used. A survey through the views of experts has been formed to collect data. In the analyzing of the survey SPSS programme is used and dala from the survey is tabulated by taking percent and frequency values from descriptive statistics method.The universe of the survey are 9th class students in the Painting Departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Sport High Schools existing in The Aegean Region. The sample is 60 students studying at 9th class at Kütahya and Uşak Fine Arts and Sport High Schools in the education year of 2010-2011.In the end of the survey it has been determined that at Fine Arts And Sport High Schools male students are excessive, the type of painting students enjoy most is realist kind of paintings and the students do not follow art magazines, at times art activities are arranged in the cities they live and that none of the students go to opera or ballet and the incomes of the families of the students are on the edge of starvation according to the statistics of TUIK. In addition to this, it has been detected that in the fine arts and sport high school visual arts teachers at primary school are effective in guidance of the students and students gel painting course to attend this school to a large extend, students are pleased with the physical conditions of the schools and with a little difference they mostly aim to be a painting teacher.Key words: Fine arts and sport high schools, painting department, education of art, determining the profile.
