As a result of the increasing speed of technological developments in the world, printed newspapers have been moved to the online environment and the concept of "internet journalism" has emerged. The fact that it is easily accessible and does not require any extra fees has increased the tracking of newspapers on the internet day by day. Many people prefer internet journalism instead of buying a printed newspaper. In this case, it provides much more reading of newspapers. Although every citizen has a natural right to receive news about daily life, it is a controversial issue whether the news reaches the society impartially. Especially with the use of manipulation elements in the news, accurate and unbiased news has not been presented to the target audience. In this context, this study examines the manipulation of the news published in the internet channel, which is much more preferred today than printed newspapers. How the news of the "Rise and fall of the Dollar", which caused a lot of speculation in Turkey in 2019, was covered in the "Sabah Internet Newspaper", a publication of the Turkuaz Media group, and in the "Hürriyet Internet Newspaper", a publication of the Demirören Media group, were examined within the framework of Teun A.van Dijk's critical discourse analysis. Six news selected from both newspapers between "01.01.2019-01.11.2019", which is the period with the highest Dollar activity, were analyzed within the scope of critical discourse analysis.
