The possibility of utilizing artificial intelligence in exegesis: The case of verse 25 of Surah al-Hadid

With the advent of artificial intelligence being utilized effectively across all areas of technology, people today have increasingly turned to AI-based programs for assistance in various fields. In this context, the use of AI conversational tools in religious matters, especially as young people develop habits of accessing information through technological means rather than books, highlights the importance of examining AI chatbot interactions. This study investigates the reliability of AI conversational tools in the field of exegesis, focusing on the question of whether it is possible to use AI in the interpretation of the Quran, specifically using the example of verse 25 of Surah Al-Hadid.The study comprises an introduction and three main chapters. The first chapter discusses the concepts of intelligence and reason according to the Quran and provides information about artificial intelligence. The second chapter delves into the exegesis of the concept of iron being sent down and presents scientific information related to iron. The final chapter examines the scientific information about iron and its descent by questioning the ChatGPT chatbot, comparing the responses received with exegesis sources and scientific references to test the validity of the hypothesis.Qualitative research methods were employed in this study. Data were obtained through document analysis and interviews conducted with the chatbot. These data were analyzed through comparison, assumption, and commentary, with ideas and opinions evaluated within the framework of the available data to explore and understand the topic.
