Özet (EN)

Hadiths occupy an essential position within the Islamic sciences in shaping Muslims' understanding of faith, worship, and morality. Encompassing the sayings, actions, and tacit approvals of the Prophet, hadiths convey not only religious rulings but also consolatory elements aimed at supporting the individual's spiritual well-being and preserving psychological balance. Consolation is a fundamental human need that may arise at every stage of life. This thesis seeks to reveal the nature of consolation in hadith by examining how this need manifested itself in the life of the Prophet and how it was addressed in his traditions. Taking into consideration the Prophet's human dimension, the study focuses on the consolations offered to him, his consoling attitude toward the spiritual needs of people, his approach to human nature, and the forms of consolation he extended to others. The primary aim of this study is to identify, within the principal hadith sources, both the consolations directed to the Prophet and the Prophet's consolatory responses toward the believers by centering on the concept of consolation, the human need for consolation, and the relationship between the Prophet's hadiths and consolation, and thus to demonstrate the Prophet's consoling aspect. A significant part of the research also examines the interpretations of selected narrations related to consolation in the classical hadith commentaries. The narrations examined indicate that the Prophet, as a human being, was at times in need of consolation and was comforted through Qur'anic revelation, the support of his close circle, and certain events that occurred in his life. In addition, it becomes evident that the Prophet, by taking into account the psychological states of individuals in both personal and social matters, offered various forms of consolation in accordance with the fundamental values of Islam, thereby contributing to the reconfiguration and meaningful reconstruction of their worlds of belief.
