Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to research the using of lightweight aggregate in self compacting mortars (SCM) to the effect of strenght and durability properties. In the production of SCM, river aggregate was used as normal aggregate in size of 0-2 mm and 2-4 mm, expanded perlite and pumice were used as lightweight aggregate in size of respectively 0-2 mm and 2-4 mm. Silica fume and fly ash were used as mineral additives. Totally 13 different series were designed in fine materials content of 650 kg/m3, and in super plasticizer content of 8 kg/m3. Mini slump flow, mini V-funnel and viscosimeter tests were carried out on the fresh mortar. On the other hand; bulk density, porosity, water absorption, capillary water absorption, tensile strenght in bending, compressive strenght and high temperature tests were made on the hardened SCM. According to the test results, the fresh properties of lightweight aggregate mortars comply with the criteria of self compacting mortars. By using the lightweight aggregate, water absorption have been increased. The mechanical properties of mortars have been decreased with increase in the rate of using lightweight aggregate but in all series, it has been obseved that self compacting structural lightweight mortar production is possible.
