Abstract (EN)
The performance and safety of aircraft, which are used extensively in the transportation sector, should be kept within standard limits throughout their lifetime. Various wastes are generated during the maintenance activities carried out to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft. There are very limited number of studies on the wastes generated during the maintenance of aircraft and the management of these wastes, accordingly, the wastes generated by the maintenance activities of the Cessna 172S one of the light aircraft at the Aircraft Maintenance Organization within Eskişehir Technical University, after hours of flight, were qualitatively and quantitatively determined and classified in this study. During the classification, the records of maintenance activities for 2021 and 2022 and the observations made in the hangar of the aircraft maintenance organization were used. Considering the amount of waste generated, a three-year waste management plan including appropriate recovery and disposal processes was prepared.
