Abstract (EN)

In this study, the subjects of Qur'an sciences in Hakim al-Jushami's work named al-Tahzib fi al-Tafsir were researched. In his work, the commentator evaluated the subjects of Qur'anic sciences by effectively using the narration and insight method. The fact that he was a member of the Mu'tazila sect caused him to mostly convey the narrations about his own sect. The fact that he evaluates these narrations about the sciences of the Qur'an with his own methods points to the originality of his work. Because Jushami said that the predecessor scholars laid the foundations of the science of tafsir and built this science, while the successor scholars laid the foundations of the predecessor and organized the knowledge that he transferred to them and purified it from unnecessary information. Jushami reflected his claimed understanding of interpretation in his work and classified the narrations as authentic and fabricated according to his own mental evaluations as well as the basic principles of the Mu'tazila sect. The commentator also applied this attitude to the subjects of Qur'an sciences. In his work, Jushami said that there are basically eight sciences of the Qur'an, namely recitation, dictionary, i'rab, nuzūl, nazm (relationship), meaning, provisions and parable, and he used these titles as his own method when interpreting the verses. It has been seen that the commentator also included different subjects of Qur'an sciences under these headings. In this study, twenty-one of them were investigated.
