Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to determine the quality parameters of water used for irrigation in the central villages of Hakkari province. In this respect, the quality of pool water used for irrigation purposes was determined and classified in terms of irrigation water. In the study, water samples were taken from 10 irrigation pools in June, July, August and September 2018 when product cultivation was performed, and pH, EC, Ca+2, Mg+2, K+, Na+, SO4-2, NO3-2, CO3-2, HCO3- and CI- analyzes were performed in the irrigation water samples taken. The values of sodium adsorption ratio, persistant sodium carbonate and sodium percentage were determined by using the results obtained. As a result of the study, 90 % of the irrigation water samples were in C1S1 and 10 % in C2S1 irrigation water class. The majority of irrigation water was found to be not only appropriate for irrigation but also first quality water; in other words, between the determined limit values. However, the nitrate and magnesium values of pool located in Akçalı - Kanatlı village ( pool No. 1) and the potassium value of pool located in Kırıkdağ - Şişer village (pool No. 3) exceeded the limit value. This situation is thought to be caused by nitrogen carrying compounds of snow waters to water resources, mixing animal residues to water resources and using fertilizers and pesticides excessively. The monthly pH averages of the waters range from 7.06 to 8.43. Irrigation pools are not generally polluted and have proper quality in terms of irrigation.
