Traditional agricultural culture of Trabzon province in terms of folklore

Trabzon province is one of the important areas where the agricultural cultural heritage is kept alive in Anatolia. The aim of this thesis is to create an agricultural cultere inventory in terms of folklore by revealing the rich agricultural culture of Trabzon province in a holistic way. This study, consisting of eight chapters, was carried out using field research methods such as observation and in-depth interview.In the first part, the historical, geographical and socio-economic background of the research area is emphasized. The role of the agricultural culture of Trabzon province in the historical process was evaluated through historical sources. Information is given about the relationship between culture and geography, which is effective in the formation of agricultural culture. In the second part, the literature on the agricultural culture of Trabzon province was examined. Missing points were expressed by giving information about the studies, which were carried out. In the third part, the fruit growing culture of Trabzon province is evident. Fruits are given under headings and traditional knowledge about fruits and oral literature products created aroubd fruits are included. The fruit growing culture of Trabzon province is explained in detail. In the fourth chapter, Trabzon vegetable growing culture is emphasized. Vegetable varieties are given under headings and traditional knowledge about vegetables and oral literature products around wegetables are evaluated. The fifth section consist of products that were cultivated today and their cultivation has decreased considerably. In this section, traditional knowledge about the products cultivated in the past and oral literature elements about these products are presented. In the sixth chapter, the tree culture of Trabzon province has been examined comprehensively. Under the headings, tree names are given and traditional knowledge around trees and oral lireture products related to trees are stated. In the seventh chapter, traditional knowledge obtained about wild plants and herbs growing in Trabzon province was examined in terms of folklore. In the last section, information about the tools and equipment used in agricultural culture in Trabzon province is given. Agricultural tools and equipment were given under headings and a attempt was made to reveal ethnographic material around agricultural culture.
