The aim of this study is to analyze the course "Ornament Design" given in Public Education Centers affiliated to General Directory of Apprenticeship and Extensive Education in terms of the materials utilized, validity of the course in daily life and place of this course in "the course of hand-crafts" by referring to the ideas of the people participated in this course. In the research process, a questionnaire was designed by the help of experts in the related field, and this instrument was administered to the participants of the course. The universe of this study was the participants of the "Ornament Design" courses given in Public Education Centers of the towns Çankaya, Keçioren and Yenimahalle in Ankara, in the academic year 2005-2006. So as to analyze and interpret the data obtained, the frequency and percentage distributions of the data were given in tables. According to the survey carried out, the ornamentation design course has been one of the most preferred courses among the courses given. The products are yielded with the devices which readily exist in the market without any special machines. The efficiency of the ornament design course has been increased since the participants of these courses can do applications anywhere with the materials they have in the light of the techniques and principles they learnt in the courses.
