Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the potential effect of folk dances on teachers' perceptions of professional self-efficacy. The population of the study consists of teachers working in public schools affiliated to Gaziantep National Education Directorate and the sample consists of 385 teachers selected by simple random sampling method. The questionnaire used in the data collection process was designed to evaluate teachers' self-efficacy perceptions about folk dances. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 package program. The main findings of the study revealed that there was a statistically significant difference in the perceptions of professional self-efficacy among teachers who were interested in folk dances compared to those who were not. Normality tests and skewness and kurtosis evaluations showed that the data were suitable for parametric tests. Cronbach's Alpha analysis confirmed that the questionnaire used had high reliability (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.949). In conclusion, folk dances were found to have a positive impact on teachers' self-efficacy perceptions. These findings suggest that folk dance activities can be an effective strategy in the design of teacher training and professional development programs. This study highlights the potential of using folk dances as pedagogical tools to increase teachers' professional self-efficacy and improve the quality of education.
