Abstract (EN)
Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the changes in the color of heat-cured and CAD/CAM acrylic resin materials used in removable dentures against various staining agents. Materials and Method: 3 brands of CAD/CAM acrylic resin blocks (Dentsply/Lucitone 199, Merz/M-PM, and Ondent/Tempo-Cad) and 1 brand of heat-cured acrylic resin material (Heraeus Kulzer/Paladent 20) were tested. The samples were immersed in 4 different solutions: Distilled water, tea, coffee and red wine. For each acrylic groups, 40 disc-shaped samples with 15 mm in diameter and 2 mm in height were prepared (n=10). Before the samples were immersed in the solutions, a spectrophotometer was used to measure the baseline color measurement (T0). 6 color measurements were made in total. The CIE L*a*b*color space was used to determine color differences (ΔE). ANOVA tests and sequential Bonferroni adjustment were used in statistical analysis. Results: At the end of 5 weeks of immersion, the highest color change (ΔE) was observed for the CAD/CAM 1 Dentsply group immersed in red wine (ΔE=6.28±0.24). The highest ΔE values for tea and coffee solutions were observed in CAD/CAM 3 Ondent group, respectively (ΔE=5.54±0.21), (ΔE=5.25±0.25) at the end of the 5 weeks of immersion. The lowest color change (ΔE) was observed for the CAD/CAM 2 Merz group was immersed in tea, coffee and red wine (except distilled water), respectively (ΔE=4.23±0.14), (ΔE=3.48±0.18) (ΔE=5.24±0.18).
