Abstract (EN)

A Study on Some Physical and Chemical Properties of Haringet StreamIn this study, some physical and chemical properties of Haringet Stream have been investigated between 2009 May and April 2010. For this purpose, water samples from 7 stations on Haringet Stream have been collected monthly. Flowing rate, water temperature, electrical conductivity, dissolved solid matter, pH, dissolved oxygen, total hardness, amonium nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, reactive phosphate, sulphate and biochemical oxygen demand were determined in waters. The lowest and highest values for, aloove parameters were found as 0.51-1.66 m³/sn; 7.4-9.05° C; 458-1384 µS/cm; 233-693 mg/1L; 6.5-7.81; 3.3-8.3 mg/1L; 104-258 mg CaCO3/1L; 0.01-0.06 mg/1L; 0.03-2.12 mg/1L; 0.3-8.9 mg/1L; 0.02-1.58; 8.7-75.7 mg/1L; 2.8-286 mg/1L respectively. İn conclusion, according to water quality criteria for inland water sources, Haringet Stream could be classified as class III in term of nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, reactive phosphate values and class I in term of sulphate.Key Words: Haringet Stream, Water Quality
