Abstract (EN)

Key Words: Harmonic wave, wave spread in the ground, active isolation, passive isolation, wave barrier, attenuation. There may be strong shaking in the ground or on the buildings because of natural or unnatural dynamic loading. These vibrations may damage both the buildings and people?s life quality and their comfort. Therefore a wave barrier may be developed near by the source of vibration or nearly the building which we want to protect to reduce the wavelength which comes from source of vibrations and spreads in elastic ground. In this study there are some scientific researches about determining the optimal wave barrier model either to prevent the spreading of vibrations which come from natural and unnatural wave sources (active isolation) or to prevent the reaching of the waves which come from sources of the vibrations by to the buildings or to the area that should be protected (passive isolation). In this study ground conditions are obtained by drilling bore holes on the site. Also seismic refraction test is carried out on the situ to obtain geometric structure. The most suitable wave barrier model for non isolation, active and passive isolations cases are investigated in terms of protection the structure and vibration source. The wave barriers are used in this research as open trench, water filled trench, bentonite trench and concrete trench.
